SHUN THE NON- BELIEVERS
For building groups, cultivating belief systems, pushing ideologies, and ignoring outside noise, this is a great approach. In fact, for the artist or the brand, this is the best way to build a following.
However, when it comes to something that involves more than your self interest, or would benefit from the information and experience of outside input, this type of thinking is cancerous.
"Why are all liberals idiots?"
"Why are all conservatives ignorant?"
"Why are all crossfitters dbags?"
Why don't all of these groups realize that this type of thinking is not only a part of the problem, they are making it worse? Polarizing communities that are at their best when working together.
It's easy to understand people that already agree with your way of thinking. Success, however, comes from doing the hard part.
