It's about that time of year that everyone decides to change everything. New Years resolutions have become a constant way to lie to ourselves.
1. You're inspired? it's a new year and you're going to be on top of the world
2. You want to do something? Check. What it is? Ummm probably something around "get in shape" and make/save more money. How? You haven't gotten down to the specifics, but you are going to do it.
3. You get invited out on a day that you normally would work out. This serves as the basis for your absence for the rest of the year. Think you aren't creative? Write down the reasons you make not to go to the gym.
4. Fast forward to January 2014- "THIS is MY year! Last year had Douchebags/Snooki/mad cow disease so I couldn't but THIS year is all me" . "I mean Brandon....the world WAS going to end this year"
5. Rinse and repeat.
It happens to everyone. Procrastination isn't exclusive. Don't beat yourself up for being human, but don't use it as an excuse. Stop giving yourself time to change your mind, get up and move forward until it becomes weird not to.
One thing I've always been excellent at is networking.
In an effort to help, I'm devoting 5 hours a week(for free) to helping others hit their goals. Need resume help? A diet plan? Contacts in restaurants? A sustainable workout format? Marketing ideas? Fashion help? I'm not always a great person in every field, but i'm excellent at finding who is and asking for their help. Let me use my resources to help you.
Alright -You've got motivation, perfect timing(whether you think it or not) and someone willing to help. The only thing getting in your way now is you. So get out of the way. For the next month if you need help/are confused where to start/ frustrated on never "getting there"- reach out to me and i'll make some time available.
It's time to be the people we dream of being.
Happy New Year!
